3DPrintCAD Student Studio current version 1.0.0

3DPrintCAD Student Studio v1.0.0 - The first release

Released 3 November 2026

New

  • A local classroom server on the teacher's computer - no internet and no student accounts needed
  • Students join from their own browser on the school network with their name - a class code and a student ID when the teacher wants them
  • Tasks with text and reference pictures: saved as drafts, sent when ready, changed, hidden or deleted - each task is a project of its own for every student
  • Every student's class work and task work, saved automatically to the teacher's computer; students cannot make other projects
  • Teacher Dashboard that updates itself: who joined, who is connected, who works on what, a picture of each work
  • Open any student's work live - and change it: the changes go back to the student
  • STL and 3MF export of any student's work, and a download of it as a 3DPrintCAD project
  • The editor for the teacher's own projects, and the teacher's own example for each task, to show on the projector
  • Show the address and the class code big on the projector
  • Without the class (Student Studio closed, the network down, the class ended) the students' editor waits, and nothing is lost
  • The 3DPrintCAD editor with all its body tools, sketches, text, SVG, paint and print prep
  • Windows, macOS and Linux

Good to know

  • Classes and students' work are kept in the app's data folder and stay when Student Studio is updated or reinstalled
  • Student work downloaded as a .3dpcad file opens in 3DPrintCAD on the website (Projects → Import backup)
